Jesus, Our Greatest Treasure

By Pastor Lonnie

From John’s account of Jesus’ life--

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was fully God...

Now the Word became flesh and took up residence among us. We saw His glory - the glory of the one and only, full of grace and truth, Who came from the Father...

No one has ever seen God. The only one, Himself God, who is in closest fellowship with the Father, has made God known...

For this is the way God loved the world: He gave His one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world should be saved through Him...

The Father loves the Son and has placed all things under his authority. The one who believes in the Son has eternal life. The one who rejects the Son will not see life, but God's wrath remains on him.

God's love for us is so great that He sent His one and only Son to take the punishment for our sins. We must acknowledge that this one-true, holy God exists and that our sin separates us from Him. But we can find comfort in the Lord Jesus Christ because He rewards those who trust in Him for forgiveness. He will not turn away someone who is broken in spirit and contrite in heart.

Our Creator has presented us with the greatest treasure our souls will ever encounter-- Jesus Christ died for our sins, was buried, and rose again from the grave. Through faith in Him, He has guaranteed eternal life for your soul rather than eternal condemnation for your sins. He alone has the power to transfer you from darkness to light, from death to life.

The Bible begs us to have repentance toward God and faith in the Lord Jesus (Acts 20:21). Repentance is a change of mind concerning who God is and who we are. God is holy and good. We are naturally bent toward sin. God is the Savior of mankind. We are in need of His salvation.

Of all the treasure in the world, nothing compares to eternal life in Heaven through the Lord Jesus Christ.

He truly is our greatest treasure!

Will you believe in the Lord Jesus Christ today?
